I’m Steph, and this is my blog, which, much like my life, revolves around food and travel.
I was born in a rural part of Thailand and was lucky enough to spend my childhood years in Southeast Asia before my family returned to the United States. We lived for a short stint in Tennessee before moving to New Jersey, which is where I spent my teenage years and where I’ve stayed since. I married my high school sweetheart and adopted two dogs, aka the loves of my life.
I love the beach. I love to fly around the world and I LOVE to cook and eat. Thanks for stopping by and allowing me to share a little bit of what I love with you.

I share your joy for food! AndI am going to enjoy reading your posts!
thanks for stopping by my blog and liking the Italian Spaghetti sauce with meatballs. I hope you try it some time. It’s very chunky because that’s the way we like it. Enjoy! Hey, let me know if you make it and how it turns out.
Thanks so much for following my blog. Looking forward to more of your cooking and travel adventures!
I really like your blog and am nominating you for the Liebster Blog Award 🙂

thanks so much!
My best regards to Maggie. Thanks for stopping by…have a lovely weekend!
I love your free spirit and share your love for travel and food 🙂
Thank you. Traveling and eating are some of of the best things in life!
How many countries have you visited already Global Girl? Have you been to the Philippines?
I have been to 20. No, I’ve never been to the Philippines but I would love to go! Is that where you live?
Yes, I live in Metro Manila. 🙂 I haven’t tried to travel abroad. We were booked this year for Vietnam but it didn’t push through because I couldn’t leave my baby yet. But I used to travel here in the Philippines before I got pregnant. Have you heard about Boracay or if not, try to google it. We’ve been there and the place was amazing. We will be there again in November and we’re bringing our baby. You should try to visit our country before you turn 30. I’d be glad to give you some ideas about our country. 🙂
Wow Boracay looks amazing. I would love to go. Someday I will make it to the Philippines. It looks like an amazing country and I would love to visit 🙂
You’ve read the entire bible is impressive! I love your saying that your life revolves around food. I could say mine does too. I’ll be swimming laps in the pool thinking what to cook for dinner. I’ll be at work thinking up recipes. I play the piano and thats the only time I dont think about food…. xx
Yep, I’m definitely obsessed with food. Sounds like you are too!
I’m also impressed by your bible reading! Otherwise I think we have a lot in common. I’ve reached the 30 countries before 30 goal (but I’ve also turned 30, lucky enough);)
Nice blog!
Thank you! Which countries have you been to?? Any favorites? I’m looking to plan my next trip!
I have visited most European countries, USA and several places in Asia. My favorite place in the world is New York, closely followed by Tokyo (I like big cities) 🙂 Where are you going next?
New York City is pretty amazing. I’m lucky to live about 45 minutes away from NYC. I’m not sure where I’m headed to next. My brother in law is working on a cruise line so we may do a cruise in the Caribbean island. If that doesn’t work out, we will either take a long vacation in Europe and visit a few countries or head to Thailand again and maybe visit Viet Nam while we are there. Good luck with your travels!
I live in Athens and I am also happiest when I travel! Love writing too and also would love to publish a book one day! 🙂
Sounds like we enjoy a lot of the same things!
Hey Global Girl. We’ve got a few things in common, so I feel as if I can relate to you. I too have read the whole Bible, dress better in the summer than in the winter (living in Brazil helps), love good food and a healthy lifestyle, love traveling and experiencing other cultures, and…. I pick the skin off of my thumbs too =) Actually, off my index fingers too.
We do have a lot in common! 🙂 I’m trying to work on the thumb picking!
hahahahaha. i’ve given up. i just go ahead and pick.
Maggie is very cute! I see you have a lot of pasta recipes…I love pasta! I’ll definitely try a few…
Hi there! I’ve nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award.
http://littlewritelies.com/2013/12/05/versatile-blogger-award/
Whether or not you choose to display the award, I want to commend you on your great blogging. Keep up the good work!
Thank you 🙂
Of course! 🙂
I just looked at your recipe for the bacon/egg/potatoe casserole and im thinking im going to make it for Christmas morning.. what can I use instead of friache if I cant find it? Thank you!!
Hi! It is a really delicious casserole. Creme fraiche makes it extra decadent but if you can’t find that you can substitute sour cream or maybe even Greek yogurt! I haven’t tried it with either but I think both of those would work well in place of the creme fraiche. Sour cream would probably be the closest match. Hope you guys enjoy it!
thanks for liking my pot pie entry. I’d love to know what your results were!
Congratulations! You have been nominated for the Versatile blogger award. Please collect it at
