Mmm…brunch. There is something about brunch that just makes me feel relaxed. I love it, especially around this time of year. The weather is warm, many places offer outdoor dining, the menus are incredible and it’s a great way to enjoy the spring season. Recently, I was lucky enough to get brunch in Princeton two weekends in a row and it got me thinking about all the awesome Princeton brunch spots there actually are. If I choose to eat out, it’s generally for dinner. I often forget or overlook the brunch spots altogether. But going out to eat for brunch is such a rewarding experience, especially if you get to do it in the Princeton area. (more…)
One of my favorite local restaurants is Blue Point Grill in Princeton. It’s on the pricey side but you can’t beat the fresh seafood. In fact, the menu changes daily depending upon what is caught that day. The menu is also extensive and offers all kinds of fish and seafood. One thing I love about Blue Point is that many of their fish entrees come prepared very simply with just a light lemon butter sauce. I love this because it really allows the flavor and the freshness of the fish to stand out. Food doesn’t always need tons of ingredients to make it taste good. Sometimes simpler is better and in this case it definitely is. (more…)
Believe it or not my favorite place to eat at the Jersey shore is not a seafood joint. Most people really look forward to the fresh seafood when eating at the beach but my favorite beach restaurant happens to be a casual little restaurant that serves up Mexican and Tex Mex food. Ever since we moved to New Jersey, my family has been taking summer vacations in Wildwood. I have eaten at numerous restaurants there, some fancy, some casual and dinner at Bandanas Mexican Grille is still the meal I look forward to the most. The festive atmosphere and the delicious food keep me coming back each summer. And, by the way, I’m not a dessert person but the dessert here is FANTASTIC. (more…)
This is from Sushi Palace in Kingston, NJ. All you can eat sushi has never thrilled me because it usually isn’t the best quality. That goes for most all you can eat places, in my opinion. But the sushi at Sushi Palace is GOOD quality and for $25 you can eat your fill of the stuff. We definitely did as you can see from the pictures above! I love trying the specialty rolls, but I have to say, spicy tuna is really a favorite of mine no matter where I go. It’s so good! What’s your favorite sushi roll?
I feel incredibly blessed to live in an area with great restaurants and only 45 minutes away from New York City, home to some of the greatest restaurants in the world. When we want to go out to dinner, our options are seemingly limitless. Thai, Indian, Greek, Italian, you name it and we can easily find it. (more…)
I love the beach. And I love Maggie (my puppy). So I jumped at the chance to bring her to the beach. Since it’s off season right now, I planned to bring her to the regular beach and walk her on-leash. It’s a good thing I didn’t do this, because we found out that dogs are not allowed on the beach/boardwalk after April (at least in Manasquan. I haven’t checked with other beaches). Before we left our apartment, Matt decided to look online and see if there were any off-leash beaches for dogs. So, using trusty google search, we came across this website, http://www.bringfido.com/, and found a dog beach in Manasquan that looked promising. We decided to give it a whirl. (more…)
My quarter century birthday (or 25th) happened this month and celebrations ensued. I feel so blessed because not only do I get to celebrate my birthday once, I also get to go out with my family, my husband’s family, and my friends. It’s nice to feel loved :). However, the month of May will now be devoted to dieting since basically I ate my way through the entire month of April! (more…)
I was so good on my diet. I really was. I didn’t cheat at all while on the Daniel Fast, at least not knowingly. Except once. One Friday night while on the Daniel Fast, I made an exception. Sometimes, you can’t help it…this was one of those times.
My family and I venture to Wildwood, NJ almost every summer for a little bit of sun, fun, relaxation, and of course, some great food. Since I have been to Wildwood oh, about 20 times, I thought I had exhausted all the food possibilities in the area. However, there are 2 special restaurants that stick out in my mind. (more…)
I found it. A restaurant that reminds me of my honeymoon. Obviously, if you read my previous posting, you saw how Greek food made an impact on me. I had accepted the fact that I probably wouldn’t have quality Greek food like that again for awhile (until I venture back to Greece – which I plan on doing at some point). However, my grandmother, who, bless her heart, knows how I loved the food in Greece, informed me of a restaurant that her Greek friends referred to as “the best Greek restaurant in town”.
I have eaten there twice in the 2 weeks I have been back from my honeymoon. (more…)
